Brain Box Bay Control App — Free Golf Sim Bay Control for Windows

Most golf sim owners know the routine: turn on the power strip, walk to the projector, wait for it to warm up, click around to launch GSPro, launch monitor software, connectors, drag windows onto the right display, minimize, maximize windows, press a button, and so on. The Brain Box Bay Control App collapses all of that into a single button push on the Brain Box or a press of a hotkey.

It runs quietly in your Windows tray and can orchestrate equipment including TAPO smart plugs, PJLink-compatible projectors, start software like GSPro or any other software you specify, then perform any number of post launch actions.

You walk in, press one button, start your round.

The Brain Box Bay Control App is part of our commercial offering, we’ve decided to release this as a free download for anyone to use as we think it will be a useful tool for home sim setups. What it does

• Powers your gear in the right order — smart plugs come on, the projector warms up, everything’s ready when you are.
• Launches GSPro or any software you need automatically, perform post launch actions including moving windows on the correct display, minimize, maximize, set focus, etc.
• Single startup / shutdown button or hotkey — Ctrl+Alt+C by default.
• Cools the projector before cutting power, the way the manufacturer intended, helping protect your projector over time.
• Has USB video camera integration, you can configure a USB camera to record your session, it can automatically start when the bay starts and end when you shutdown your bay. Download the video to your phone by scanning a QR code, etc.
• Define hotkeys to perform actions, you can define hotkeys to different function such as startup, shutdown, toggle, etc.
• Checks for updates automatically — install once, stay current.

Built to pair with the Brain Box

The Brain Box sends Ctrl+Alt+C when its launch button is pressed — exactly the shortcut this app’s startup/shutdown toggle uses. Plug in the Brain Box, press the red launch button to start your bay, press the button again and it will set focus to your nominated app, press the button twice in quick succession to shutdown your bay. No constant mucking around, no hassle.

Before you install

Because the app is still building reputation with Microsoft SmartScreen, Windows may show a one-time warning the first time you run the installer. Download it from here, then choose More info → Run anyway. Future updates are handled by the app’s built-in updater.
